Randy Hotton to present, "How Detroit Saved the World, The Willow Run Story" at the Lenawee County Historical Musueum

Randy Hotton, historian and pilot will present, "How Detroit Saved the World” at the Lenawee County Historical Museum. The program will be held on Thursday, April 23 at 7:00 P.M. at the museum, 110 E. Church St. in Adrian. The presentation will cover the World War II story of how the Ford Motor Company built the B-24 bomber plant at Willow Run Airport.
Hotton, a retired US Navy Captain, served as a pilot in P-3 Orion aircraft flying in Vietnam and conducted anti-submarine patrols during the cold war. Hotton has done extensive research and reading on the history of the Willow Run Airport. His presentation includes the involvement of the auto industry in the construction of Bombers for World War II and the events that ultimately led to the building of the bomber plant at Willow Run Airport. Horton will also cover the history of the Yankee Air Museum.
